The Occupational Safety and Health Act requires employers to protect their employees from recognized hazards that may result in death or serious physical harm and to comply with OSHA standards. So which standards impact workplace fall protection? Employers Should Prepare for More OHSA Whistleblower Investigations

Over the last several years, as part of a “multifaceted plan for strengthening the enforcement of 21 whistleblower laws,” OSHA has restructured its whistleblower program and has made changes to its program policy, training and internal systems. This move could have a serious impact on employers in the manufacturing industry. Recruitment by video conferencing up 40% in 3 years say UK HR directors

More than four in 10 (41 per cent) UK HR directors say that compared to three years ago, they have increased their use of video conferencing to conduct interviews. Highlighting the increased challenges that companies are facing to attract suitable candidates, nearly nine in 10 (89 per cent) senior executives across UK businesses report that it is at least ‘somewhat’ or ‘very challenging’ to find skilled professionals, with small (91 per cent) and medium (90 per cent) sized organisations finding it the most challenging. Money Talks When It Comes to Losing Weight, Mayo Clinic Study Finds

A new Mayo Clinic study finds that employees who receive financial incentives for losing weight are significantly more successful than those who do not receive financial incentives. Weight loss study participants who received financial incentives were more likely to stick with a weight loss program and lost more weight than study participants who received no incentives, according to Mayo Clinic research that will be presented Saturday, March 9 at the American College of Cardiology’s 62nd Annual Scientific Session.
