Musculoskeletal Disorders on the Rise

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) cost the United States approximately $45-$55 billion per year. In fact, 80 percent of adults injure their backs at some point in their lives. These injuries could be greatly reduced with training, knowledge and preventative maintenance. MSDs are one of the most common causes of severe long-term pain and physical disability in America. Many workers who have surgery for a musculoskeletal disorder experience recurring problems that require additional surgery, leading to lost work time, disability and required changes in occupations.
