UK PM David Cameron speaking at the Nutrition for Growth summit

The event was co-hosted by the UK and Brazilian Governments in conjunction with CIFF (The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation) and DFID (The Department for International Development) who employed event production specialists J Live to put together the technical side of the event.

100 Victoria Embankment, the head office of Unilever, was the chosen venue for the event with the main plenary session being staged on the 8th floor in their Skyline restaurant,  which was relayed to a further five breakout areas including the ground floor atrium and lower ground floor in-house auditorium.

Much of the equipment was loaded into the venue early Thursday morning, and needed to be transported via numerous lifts down to the underground floor 3, across the building and up to 8th floor.

J Live MD Simon Fowler said: “Disruption to the venue and the staff who work there had to be kept to a minimum during the working week.   This resulted in the mammoth task of installing set, staging and all technical equipment in just over 12 hours during Friday afternoon and evening.”

J Live employed the services of Dynamic Media Solutions who installed a fibre optic network to relay HD images around the venue and to provide feeds to Talkpoint who streamed the event live to the media and embassies across the world.

This network was also used to send images to the translation booths on the 8th floor.  Ubiqus were then able to provide simultaneous translation that could be delivered back to each room thus avoiding having individual translation in multiple areas.

With 52 nations represented at Presidential, Prime Ministerial and Ministerial level the event drew to a close on Saturday evening with over £2.7bn pledged which will help prevent at least 20 million children from being stunted and save at least 1.7 million live by 2020.
