Kristiansand cinema fits Dolby Atmos system

Kristiansand Kino with Dolby Atmos sound Atmos supports up to 128 simultaneous, lossless audio elements in a mix, and uses up to 64 loudspeakers to create an immersive cinematic experience. Owned by the Municipality of Kristiansand, the Kino has the highest footfall of any Norwegian cinema, with 370,000 filmgoers visiting each year. The Atmos system was installed in its 655-seat Screen 1 by Unique Cinema System (UCS), which specified the Yamaha speaker and amplifiers package exclusively. The surround system features 24 Yamaha Installation Series IF2112/64 and 14 IF2112/AS full-range speakers, plus two IS1218 subs. Your Comment Cancel reply

John Lewis installs interactive screen as part of Smart TV promo campaign

John Lewis store on Oxford Street in London The augmented reality experience was audio-enabled using Feonic’s Whispering Window invisible speakers.  People passing by the stores were able to use the technology first-hand, and by integrating the Whispering Window technology, sound was projected through the windows so everyone could hear what was being played on the TVs. The project has been led by experiential marketing company TRO Group, with the Feonic installation managed by audio installer Orbital Sound, alongside event production company, EPMD. Allen and Heath for Durov Theatre Moscow Built in 1912, the theatre’s audio kit had not been updated for 30 years and was not providing even sound coverage to the amphitheatre-shaped hall. OSHA Cites Ridgefield Park, N.J., contractor for Repeat Fall Hazards

OSHA has created a Stop Falls Web page with detailed information in English and Spanish on fall protection standards. OSHA has cited masonry contractor F. Pardo Corp., based in Ridgefield Park, N.J., with two repeat violations found while the company installed brickwork on a residential structure in Paramus, N.J. OSHA’s February investigation was initiated as a result of an imminent danger fall hazard, and proposed penalties total $46,200. The repeat violations were issued because the company allegedly exposed employees to falling object hazards while they were working below masonry activities without wearing hard hats. Wake Up and Drive: Fatigue Causes 20 Percent of Crashes

Feeling fatigued? Pour yourself another cup of coffee and think twice before you get behind the wheel. A new study from the Virginia Tech Transportation reveals that 20 percent of car crashes are caused by fatigue, with young drivers particularly vulnerable to driving while fatigued. Bloomberg modernises NY HQ

The Hub at Bloomberg HQ in NYC Designed by the Studio of Cinematic Architecture (SOCA) and Jump Studios, and made by Engage, The Scroll is a digital display delivering Bloomberg news. The data surface appears to come out from the wall on an array of lights. These lights respond in realtime to the changing colour of the content. The Scroll screen surface was created using three LED back-lit LCD screens mounted vertically.
