Safety in Iceland

I’ve just returned from a two-week vacation in Iceland. During that time, I climbed mountains, visited waterfalls, watched geothermal steam pour from the earth, walked on lava fields, shivered by glaciers and much more. Iceland is a beautiful, surreal-seeming country with amazing natural wonders and landscapes – landscapes that come complete with their own safety concerns. From falling into waterfalls to dropping off steep gravel roads to being burned by geothermal steam or water, the risks in Iceland were a little different from what I was used to at home. I couldn’t resist photographing a few safety-related signs throughout my trip. So enjoy this glimpse of tourist safety, Iceland-style:   […]

Extron introduces new speaker system for suspended ceilings

Extron Electronics’ SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System The CS 1226T SpeedMount speaker system features the newest speaker innovation from Extron, designed to simplify ceiling speaker installation. The two-piece system consists of the CS 120P plenum rated enclosure and a CS 26T two-way speaker cartridge. An AV technician can complete installation by connecting the CS 26T speaker cartridge to the wiring and securing it into the enclosure. Available as a complete assembly of a pair of CS 120P enclosures and a pair of CS […]

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center researchers conducted a study to evaluate the heat indexes in migrant farm worker housing and found that a majority of the workers don’t get a break from the heat when they’re off the clock. This research raises concerns about productivity and worker health. “We found that a majority of the workers are not getting much respite from the heat in the evening,” said lead author […]
